A Brewery in our Backyard

by admin on September 28, 2012

Wednesday night we hosted the Carton Brewery Beer Dinner featuring Carton beers created locally in Atlantic Highlands! We had a great time at our dinner last night. The food was delicious, and of course the beer was brewed to perfection. We are glad you all had a good time and enjoyed the night just as much. For those of you who weren’t able to attend, here is some great information about Carton Brewery. If you haven’t tried the beer, you’re missing out!

Who is Carton Brewing Company?

The company was formed by two cousins  – Chris and Augie Carton and a local brewer -  Jesse Ferguson. and started Carton Brewing. The cousins vision partnered with Jesse’s skills made the warehouse at 6 E. Washington Avenue into an independent craft brewery that you can’t pass up. Their goal: to make tasty beer in the place their tastes were formed in the shore community.

The Beer

The team brews up five different beers:

Boat Beer –  This brew is designed to be complex enough to enjoy a few while still being able to enjoy a few more! Kolsch It’s crisp and refreshing with a generous amount of American hops. The team describes this creation as an IPA for everyday drinking – drink boat beer when you are thirsty from softball, fishing, or explaining why your team is best.

077XX – An East Coast Double IPA named for the locality of the brewery, and the Jersey freshness it brings to beer loves, this brew  is inspired by a West Coast IPA with a variety of hops to add a dynamic East Coast profile.  This beer is available only in N.J.!

Red Eye Returning – A true journey home to New York, this brew consists of piney American hops, Simcoe, Cluster, and Horizon their natural course coaxed toward spicy by a touch of rye. You can grab up this delicious brew in New York only.

The team also makes Brunch. Dinner. Grub. and Carton of Milk. Which is your favorite? Come in to Molly Maguire’s Blackpoint Inn to get a glass! Let us know on our Facebook page. We look forward to doing another dinner with this great beer at our Rumson restaurant!
